Fisher College Honors Program

The Fisher College Honors Program provides a close-knit community of high-achieving students who work through various courses, projects, and experiences that enhance their time in school.
Below are some of the components of my experience in the program:

These two classes for freshmen build upon the standard English writing and literature program to include more in-depth research projects, group discussions, and critical thinking.
The Honors Program requires students to complete at least 20 volunteer hours during one semester. I chose to do mine as a Meal Program Assistant at the Women's Lunch Place, a kitchen and advocacy center for women facing hardship in Boston.
This course focused on identifying many forms of monstrosity in fiction, folklore, and reality. It combined weekly papers, group discussions, and presentations to build our cultural and societal awareness.
The final component of the Honors Program is the Senior Thesis. This is a two-semester-long project to uses detailed research, time management, writing, critical thinking, and organization to produce a six-chapter thesis that is then reviewed and approved by a panel of staff. My thesis is titled "Learning to Lead: How Summer Camps Build Leaders in the Workforce."
